Jon Stewart Bio, Parents, Wife, Children, Siblings, Net Worth: Jon Stewart, officially known as Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz is an American comedian, political commentator, actor, director, and television host.

Born on November 28, 1962, Jon Stewart kicked off his career as a stand-up comedian but switched to television as host of Short Attention Span Theater for Comedy Central.

He went on to host You Wrote It, You Watch It and then The Jon Stewart Show, both on MTV, until The Jon Stewart Show was retooled, dropped by the network and moved to syndication

He also did a few cinematic projects after becoming the host of The Daily Show from 1999 to 2015, where he also was a writer and co-executive producer.

The Daily Show gained popularity and during his time, won 22 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards, and was nominated for news and journalism awards.

In the mid-1990s, Stewart launched his own production company, Busboy Productions, naming the company in reference to his previous job as a busboy.

He is the co-author of America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction and Earth (The Book): A Visitor’s Guide to the Human Race.

Jon Steward has also appeared in several films, including Big Daddy, Death To Smoochy, Since You’ve Been Gone, and The Faculty, among others.

Since leaving The Daily Show, he has maintained a low profile in entertainment industry circles but has used his celebrity and voice in sustained advocacy for 9/11 first responders and war veterans’ health benefits.

In 2019, he received the New York City Bronze Medallion for his “tireless advocacy, inspiration, and leadership (helping to) pass the permanent authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act”.

He now hosts The Problem with Jon Stewart, which premiered in September 2021 on Apple TV+, and in 2022, he received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Jon Stewart was the host for the 78th and 80th Academy Awards.
