Esther Vergeer is one of the most popular and richest Wheelchair Tennis Player who was born on July 18, 1981 in Woerden, Utrecht, Netherlands. From the 31st of March, 2001 to the time she retired in 2013. Vergeer had only one singles contest (on the 30th of January, 2003 in Sydney International Sydney International against Daniela Di Toro, a player from Australia) She won 559 of her 560 last matches. From August 2004, through October, 2006, she even won 250 sets in a row with only one set that was decided in an end-of-set tiebreaker. In her final competition that she won gold in the Paralympic Gold medal, in the month of September Vergeer had extended her winning streak by the number of 470 matches.

After a swimming lesson , at the age of six, Vergeer began to feel dizzy, and then was unconscious. She was transported to a hospital where it was found out that she was suffering from an accumulation of fluids in the brain and also a hemorrhaging in her brain. The doctors inserted a shunt her brain and Vergeer was released from hospital after six weeks. In June 1989, Vergeer experienced headaches, pressure in her eyes, as well as neck pain.
