Emily Ratajkowski children: Meet Sylvester Apollo Bear – Emily Ratajkowski is an English-born American actress and model.

Emily Ratajkowski, who was born in London to American parents and raised in Encinitas, California, began performing as a child before landing a role on the Nickelodeon series iCarly (2009–2010).

She grew up in Encinitas, California, a town near San Diego. She attended UCLA for a year before leaving to pursue modeling full-time.

Her mother is Jewish, but her father was raised as a Roman Catholic. According to Ratajkowski, she identifies as “Polish-Israeli.” She also has German, Irish, and English ancestors.

Ratajkowski dabbled in acting, ballet, and soccer prior to modeling. She participated in a few local theatrical productions as a child and adolescent.

Ratajkowski was exposed to the nude female figure in photography and art during her formative years, including her father’s work and the photography of Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts.

Ratajkowski met and signed with a talent agent who contacted Ford Models after an acting coach encouraged her to do so.

She signed a contract with Ford at the age of 14 and later modeled for Kohl’s and Nordstrom’s teen print catalogs.

Ratajkowski has raised funds for Planned Parenthood, made public service announcements, and committed to a short film promoting reproductive and sexual health.

Ratajkowski spoke at a Bernie Sanders rally in New Hampshire on the eve of the February 2016 New Hampshire Democratic primary to endorse his campaign.

One of the main points of her speech, as well as her subsequent social media activity, was to refute Gloria Steinem’s claim that young female Sanders supporters were involved in the campaign to meet potential male romantic partners. She endorsed Sanders for the Democratic nomination again in 2020.
